Russian mining and metals company Mechel won the “Best Corporation” award at the Russian-Korea Business Awards on April 3 in Seoul, Korea.
The award was given in praise of the strong ties between Mechel and many south Korean manufacturing companies, including Hyundai.
“Mechel’s winning the Best Corporation award shows that the projects we implement together with our South Korean partners not only strengthen trade and economic ties, but create a solid and lasting basis of trust and mutual understanding between our two countries,” Evgeniya Mudrova, Mechel OAO’s representative in South Korea, said.
The event was co-organized by the Russia’s Trade Representative in Korea and Korea’s Ministry of Knowledge Economy. Prominent attendees included Russia’s Deputy Minister for Economic Development Igor Manylov, the Republic of Korea’s Deputy Minister for Knowledge Economy Moon Chai Do, and Russia’s Plenipotentiary Ambassador in the Republic of Korea Konstantin Vnukov.
Mechel is one of Russia’s largest mining and metallurgical companies, uniting producers of coal, iron ore concentrate, nickel, ferrochrome, ferrosilicon, steel, rolled products, hardware, heat and electric power.
