Iron ore production at Metalloinvest increased by 1.4 percent quarter on quarter to 10 million mt, according to the company’s recently released second quarter results.
Iron ore shipments increased by 7.7 percent quarter-on-quarter in the same period to 3.1 million mt, SteelOrbis reports.
The company also released pellet production and shipment volumes, which were down 2.4 percent and up 2.9 percent respectively, quarter-on-quarter. Metalloinvest also saw a quarter on quarter decrease of 5.6 percent in HBI/direct reduced iron production in the second quarter. This lowered production to 1.3 million mt. Shipment volumes decreased to 0.6 million mt, a 5.2 percent decrease from the previous quarter.
Crude steel production was down by 2.5 percent to 1.4 million mt quarter-on-quarter. Pig iron output increased by 0.7 percent quarter-on-quarter to 0.6 million mt, SteelOrbis reports.
