Nine gold deposits presented in Kyrgyzstan

Nine gold deposits across Kyrgyzstan were recently presented by the State Agency of Kyrgyzstan on Geology and Mineral Resources for mining.

The agency made the announcement to the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan, News.az reports.

The gold deposits include Karamakoo, Togolok, Sarasay, Andagul, Terekkan Perevalnoe, the antimony deposits in Chonkoy and Cassa, the mercury deposit in Kadazhmay and the arsenic deposit in Uch-Emchek.

Studies have already begun on the projects submitted on the Azerbaijan side, according to News.az.

Recently, Azerbaijan expanded its gold production with a new mine at Chovdar and the discovery of a new field in Goygol, both in the western part of the country.

Work to develop the Chovdar is underway, and it’s projected that the volume of gold expected from the two locations is 7.5 tons by the end of 2012, according to News.az.

Additionally, the newly discovered gold deposit in Tulallar in the Goygol District is estimated to hold 80 tons of gold and 290 tons of silver. This field is also being prepared for development.
