Sergei Zhikyakov was appointed to the position of CEO of Mechel Ferroalloys Management OOO.
In his new position, Zhikyakov will undertake operation control of the group’s ferroalloys division enterprise.
Zhikyakov brings 37 years of experience in electrometallurgy and ferroalloys to the position. he previously served as the deputy CEO at Mechel Ferroalloys management OOO and, since 2006, has heeded the department responsible for developing the group’s ferroalloys business.
Zhikyakov has also served as the head of Rusal Global Management B.V. ZAO’s production department. At Mechel, he has been the deputy chief of the department for reconstruction and development of the company’s steel and ferroalloys complexes and heeded the ferroalloys production development department.
Additionally, Zhikyakov was the first deputy director of Sibelectrosplay OOO and, from 1975 until 2000, he worked at Kuznetsk Ferroalloys Plant.
Zhikyakov’s predecessor, Gennady Ovchinnikov, was appointed to the position of CEO of the Donetsk Electrometallurgical Plant.
